Kotaku got a copy of a report by Financial Analyst Michael Pachter (Wedbush Securities) from his recent visit to EA. EA will be releasing “premium downloadable content” on the Playstation Network and Xbox Live for $10 to $15 and then later release the full game for a full price. Essentially you’re going to pay for a longer than normal demo, and then pay full price for the game at retail.
Demo’s are supposed to entice me to buy the full game by letting me try before I buy. Why the hell would I pay for a demo? They don’t even mention a discount if you paid for the demo. Do they really think anyone will go for this?

Only if they would knock of the $15 from the retail price, and even then only for games I know I was going to be buying anyway.
