windows7 Windows 7 Launches Today (Updated With Launch Notes)

If you’re like me, you could use an alternative to Windows Vista. (Other than Linux, Greg.) Today is the official launch of Windows 7, and if you hurry, you still might be able to scrape together a launch party.

A friend of mine has a copy of the Windows 7 release candidate, and I’ve gotten a chance to see it. So far, it looks nice, but I don’t really care so much about that. My questions are all about stability and compatibility, and she says that she hasn’t really had any issues so far with it. Which is a nice change of pace.

Launch Party Notes

I have to admit, I’m impressed by how clean and quick Windows 7 starts up. I feel like Vista takes forever; so, that’s a nice change of pace.

The wireless docking/charging options are also a nice addition. Nikolai Tesla would be proud.

Hey, parallel graphics processing! I’ve been hoping they would make that work for a while.

They showed a very thin laptop computer that looked very cool, but very fragile. I’m not sure, but I think it was the Dell Adamo.
