Just last night, for what must be the hundredth time, I took a picture on my iPhone and went to send it to someone before remembering that it doesn’t do MMS messaging. If you’re an AT&T iPhone user, I’m sure that you’ve been sick of running into that problem, too, because sometimes, it just isn’t worth sending to someone as an email attachment. Well, it’s long overdue, but AT&T is adding MMS support on September 25th, but only for 3G and 3GS series phones. There’s a new firmware upgrade due out around that time; so, it should be on there. I really don’t know what took them so long to make this happen, but I’m sure my friends will be thrilled to see all the pointless photos I’ll be able to send them! I wonder how fast AT&T would have instituted MMS if they didn’t have iPhone users over a barrel with their exclusivity. Perhaps we’ll get to see in a couple years when the contract runs out.
