For the second year in a row, we’ve gotten a new Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer at E3. This year’s official trailer is once again cutscenes and cinematics instead of gameplay, but at least it looks cool. Luckily, G4 has some nice demo footage so you can see the game in action.
Bioware still hasn’t picked out an official release date for the long-awaited MMO, but they’re targeting spring 2011. Once the game is finally open and playable, you’ll be able to take control as either Sith or a member of the Old Republic in a battle for the galaxy that takes place millenia before Luke was a twinkle in his mother’s eye. You’ll have control of your own spaceship and you’ll be able to venture from world to world, exploring and fighting both PVP and PVE battles on major planets from the Star Wars universe. As soon as we have more details and a release date, we’ll be sure to update.
