According to SiliconEra, the first Star Ocean title for XBox360 is finally moving to the PS3. Star Ocean: The Last Hope International is due out in Japan February 4th, 2010. With this release, Square Enix’s is carrying on its tradition of re-releasing the North American versions of titles in Japan with the “International” moniker. The game will feature the option of Japanese or English voice acting as well as revisions to the battle system and menu interface. Hopefully, with this announcement, there will be a PS3 release state-side sometime in 2010. According to RPGamer, the world-wide release of the international PS3 version will be February 9th, 2010. It will also contain additional options for French, German, Italian and Spanish text and will also have new characters.
While I own both the 360 and PS3, I tend to prefer my PS3. I have yet to purchase The Last Hope because it came out before I got my 360, and I’m still trying to work through my backlog of games that I already own plus whatever is new that comes out. I have full intention of buying The Last Hope, but if a PS3 version comes to North America, I’ll have to puzzle over which one to get.

If there’s extras in the PS3 version then get that. Otherwise might as well play it now.
