songsummonerlogo 300x194 Square Enix Summoning Songs and Heroes to iPhoneIt’s been a while since Song Summoner first showed up on iPods (July 2008), and, if you’re like me, you were pretty disappointed that there wasn’t an iPhone version. Better late than never, but Square Enix has announced Song Summoner – The Unsung Heroes – Encore will be available in the iTunes App Store starting December 3rd. The iPhone/iPod Touch version of the game is actually two Song Summoner games in one, the second one never made an appearance on the actually iPod. The Song Summoner game series are strategy/tactical RPGs that use the songs available on your iPhone or iPod to create troops in the game, similar to how you create monsters in Monster Rancher from CDs and game discs. Apple has not yet disclosed the price of the new game, but there is also a Lite (probably free) version of the game awaiting approval, as well.

Always thought that was a neat concept even though I only played monster rancher for an hour or so.

What trooper gets created from “The Internet is for Porn” by Avenue Q?

You must let me know :P
