Square Enix has posted a page to their Final Fantasy XIV site that they are now taking applications for the Windows version of the Final Fantasy XIV beta test. There will be multiple rounds of selection for the beta test, keeping all current testers and adding new testers each time. Each person should apply only once, and their application will be considered during all rounds of testing. According to the site the criteria for selection are as follows:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a Square Enix ID account (you can file for one right before applying and still be eligible)
- Possess an internet connection
- Be capable of downloading large amounts of data
- Be capable of submitting bug reports in either Japanese, English, French or German
Not the most stringent of requirements; so, expect to see the servers hammered pretty hard for the next few days as everyone tries to get their applications in. There is no information at this time about the Playstation 3 version of the beta test, but we will report on it as soon as we find out.
