For Eurpoeans wondering what they get for losing access to UMDs with the PSP Go, Sony has your answer. In exchange for giving up your disc-based PSP games, Sony will offer 3 free games for download on your new PSP Go. By first registering your old PSP with the promotion on the PlayStation Network, and then connecting with your new PSP Go by March 31, 2010, you will be given a choice of 17 games to pick from (you can find the list below). While this is some compensation for giving up your UMDs, it still doesn’t give you access to the games you’ve already bought. I’m still waiting to hear Sony’s response on that one, because, frankly, these games aren’t the reason I would have bought a PSP in the first place.
According to Joystiq, the list is as follows:
- Killzone Liberation
- Medievil
- Wipeout Pure
- Buzz Brain Bender
- Buzz Master Quiz
- SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo
- Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
- Everybody’s Golf
- Resistance: Retribution
- Syphon Filter Dark Mirror
- Lemmings
- LocoRoco
- Patapon
- Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow
- Echochrome
- Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
- Daxter
