Updated: a representative of OzMod Chips has given some more insight to how the dongle works. See bolded section at end of post.
Mod chip seller OzModChips.com has posted a video showing how they received a mystery package from an unnamed company. In the package was a USB dongle called a PSJailbreak – a combination of software and USB dongle that seemingly allows all makes and model of retail PlayStation 3 to copy and run any kind of game code, even with the latest firmware updates in place.
While it could be a fake OzModChips has a video on YouTube showing the system in action. Looks legit and OzModChips have a reputation for selling chips that work on other systems so I kinda have to belive them since they are taking pre-orders for the PSJailbreak. The dongle cost $170 and will arrive August 27th.
We have contacted SCEA and await comment.

Updated: A representative of OzModChips who asked to be called “Mr. OzModChips” told Kotaku
that the chip stock originates from China or Hong Kong but declined to say who designed the chip or where they are based. His site reports that “apparently 150 games have been tested on” the chip, which he tells us is information gleaned from direct contact with the chip maker. As for how this hack works, given that Sony’s machine has been essentially uncrackable for four years, he told us in an e-mail: “I think it tricks the ps3 into thinking its a dev unit, but I don’t know to much technical info about it.”
That will do it. I placing my bets on it being very real. I also bet Sony is pre-ordering some as well as filing injunction paperwork as I write this.
