Atlus has announced a new game from the group that has brought you Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 and 4. The new game, currently called Catherine, is under development for the PS3 and XBox 360. The game is geared towards adults and centers around an insomniac named Vincent. This isn’t Vincent’s first appearance in the Persona universe; he appears in Persona 3 Portable complaining of nightmares.
During his waking hours, he is seduced by a young woman named Catherine. His nights are filled with dreams of an endless staircase and anthropomorphic sheep. There is a rumor that if you die during those dreams, you also die in real life. More information will be available when Atlus’s Japanese website opens next Monday. The game is due out this winter in Japan, but there are no announcements about other releases.
In the meantime, you can partake of the trailer video below, but keep in mind that this game is intended for adults. The trailer does contain a few sexually suggestive, though not explicit, images.
