NIS America has announced that they will be bringing Disgaea Infinite to North America this May. The PSP Disgaea spinoff title trades the primarily tactical RPG gameplay for more adventure and mystery novel style gameplay. You play as a Prinny who is out to investigate an assassination attempt on Laharl.
According to NIS America’s press release, Disgaea Infinite isn’t like any Disgaea game you’ve played before:
In Disgaea Infinite, players will use “time traveling” and “possession” to solve mysteries. The game initially begins by traveling back in time. You will then possess other characters to gather info/clues. By possessing the characters, you can read their minds and see through their eyes. Some characters might be thinking something completely different as they talk to others. By possessing different characters, you will gradually find out who the true culprit is.
You can check out some Japanese screenshots below. While the story will primarily center around the adventure and mystery aspects, one of the screenshots still seems to be out on the battlefield.
