Studio Ghibli and Level-5 have been working on the DS title Ni no Kuni: The Another World since it was first announced in 2008. What we didn’t know is that they’ve also been working on a PS3 version of the game as well. The DS version of the game was originally scheduled for release earlier this year but delays have pushed it back until fall. According to Andriasang, the Famitsu article does not contain any pricing or dates for the PS3 version.
On the PS3, Ni no Kuni will feature cel-shaded graphics with cutscenes animated by Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation studio known for works such as Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke, and Howl’s Moving Castle. Level-5 is scheduled to have a press conference later this week where they may give more information on both versions of the game. No release dates have been announced outside of Japan yet, but with Level-5 opening offices in North America, hopefully, we’ll see the title over here sooner than later.
