Four of the patents (D521,015, D522,011, D547,763 and D581,422) cover “portions of a gaming controller”. The other 2 patents (D563,480 and D565,668) cover a “portion of a gaming input device having an illuminated region”. Guess that means all the optical mice sold in computer stores now are also infringing on the illuminated region patent. And of course the current lawsuit has nothing to do with Datel’s controllers being sold for $30 and MS controllers being sold for $50.
The complaints were filed with the International Trade Commission as well as U.S. District Court in Seattle.
