Level-5, the studio that has brought us such games as Dark Cloud, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, and White Knight Chronicles, has announced an intention to expand to North America and Europe. According to RPGamer, they are looking to open a subsidiary in North America this summer and one in the United Kingdom late this year. These two branches will act as software sales companies, implying that they will be used for distribution, not development.
Hopefully, this means we might see other Japan-only Level-5 titles here in the near future. Games like the graphically beautiful Ni no Kuni: The Another World or their soccer RPG series Inazuma Eleven have yet to make it to North American shores, but with offices here, maybe we will see them soon. No official dates for opening nor personnel have been announced at this point.
