hetaliaaxispowers 300x187 Hetalia English Casting AnnouncementFUNimation has begun releasing the cast list for the English version of Hetalia – Axis Powers. The anime centers around the World War I and II era and each country is given a character to represent them. The battles and alliances, rather than playing out between entire countries, are depicted as events between the singular characters. FUNimation will continue to release more names via their blog over the next week or so.

Johnny Yong Bosch hasn’t been listed yet, but since he seems to be everywhere, expect him to be announced eventually. Ryan Reynolds is listed as a cast member, but it isn’t the Hollywood actor, as FUNimation’s twitter has pointed out. The one other name listed that I don’t recognize is Ryan Bijan.

Updated 7/16/10 – Here’s the full rundown. No JYB to be found:

I could see JYB getting cast as America. I guess we’ll all find out next week.

Well, I happen to know that this is Ryan Bijan’s first role in an anime and he really hopes that he’ll be able to do more voice acting in the future. I have confidence that he’ll be a great Poland ^_^
