googlebuzz Google Launches Buzz To Conquer Social NetworkingGoogle continues its march towards world domination. They’ve now launched Google Buzz, a new social media interface that works as part of your GMail client. Buzz can link up with your other Google network sites like Picasa, Google Chat, Flickr, and Reader along with your Twitter and Youtube accounts, allowing you to share interesting links, videos and photos. You can also create conversation threads similar to the status update system of Facebook, and people you’re following and following you can comment back and forth.

If you have an active thread in buzz, it will give you updates to your Gmail account so you don’t miss out on conversation updates. It’s a pretty simple system right now, but if you enjoy the connectivity of Facebook without all the Farmville spam, it might be worth checking out for you. Google offers a full explanation of their service including a video (included below), at the official Google Reader blog. According to their post, they’re rolling out Buzz slowly; so, everyone might not have it immediately.

Out of laziness and also just enjoying the features, I usually gladly surrender to Google and let it take over my whole life. I haven’t checked Buzz out – just skipped over it in a hurry to open my email – but I will. I’d like being able to do more in one place – with my Google login – so I hope this will be good.

Yeah, as it is, I already use Gmail, Google Reader, Adsense, Analytics, Google Docs, Google Groups and GChat, but I do worry about consolidating everything under one roof. If they ever abandon their “do no evil” stance, we might be in for a world of hurt.

I for one welcome our Ant Overlords.

Seriously though I’m going with Dan on this one. Although not having any farmville spam is worth the risk :P

I’m using all those google services anyway and I have to use a few for work, so it’s also just easier for me to use buzz since I’m already there.

I’m also enjoying the “Note in Reader” button you can put in your browser toolbar that adds the funny/interesting things i find on the web to my Reader and Buzz pages. One button laziness instead of logging in to your email or facebook accounts then Copy/Pasting links, pics.

Long story short, I like Buzz better then Facebook.
