It’s almost February, that means it’s time to look at another round of graphic novels from the Land of the Rising Sun.
There are a handful of debuts this month. Tokyopop is debuting Alice in the Country of Hearts, and Del Rey is releasing Panic x Panic. Viz is releasing a pair of new titles, Biomega and the manga for the smash hit anime Bokurano. Viz is also releasing the single shot collaboration between Marvel’s Stan Lee and Shaman King’s Hiroyuki Takei, Ultimo.
If you’re looking for titles to pick up this month, the aforementioned Ultimo could be a good place to start. Eastern and Western comic powerhouses meet to tell the tale of two mysterious figures appearing in the sky to battle over the fate of Farmless City. Quite a few long running series hit the shelves this month including five more volumes of One Piece and volume 25 of Ken Akamatsu’s Negima. And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention volume 30 of Eyeshield 21 with the Super Bowl right around the corner.
