For you Ace Attorney fans who need your fix, we’ve got something to help you out. The first one’s free, but that’s all we’ll promise. Capcom has posted a flash version of part of the first Miles Edgeworth case via YouSendIt. That should tide you over until February 16th, when the full game will be released for the Nintendo DS. Ace Attorney: Miles Edgeworth will focus less on the courtroom battles featured in Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice and more on investigation and puzzle solving.
The demo features Episode One: Turnabout Visitor, and opens with two shadowy figures having a conversation in Edgeworth’s office. After some introductions and talking with Detective Gumshoe, you get your first chance to take control of Edgey. The mouse-based interface is a little different than what I’m expecting in the DS version, but this demo is more about the functions of Edgeworth’s “Logic” and “Deduce” abilities than the actual control scheme. After investigating the scene, we get a taste of the old Ace Attorney when Edgeworth interrogates someone at the scene using the “Press” and “Present” systems from the previous games. Ahhh, just like old times. Unfortunately, that’s all you get for right now, but there’s plenty of investigation to be had coming in February.
