recorder and randsellToday was all about sequels as Crunchyroll announced licenses for the second season of Teekyu and the the third season of Recorder and Randsell.

Teekyu 2 is a follow up to last fall’s tennis comedy series. Adapted from Roots and Piyo’s manga, the series follows four girls who are members of Kameido High School’s tennis club as they do just about anything but play tennis. The series is animated by Mappa, who also animated last year’s critically acclaimed Kids on the Slope. The second season starts on July 7th at 7:30 p.m. Pacific for premium members and July 14th for free subscribers.

Along with the sequel to Teekyu, another season of Recorder and Randsell will start next week. The third season continues to follow siblings Atsushi and Atsumi Miyagawa and their unusual situation. 11-year-old Atsushi is already 5′ 11″ tall while his 17-year-old “big” sister is only 4′ 6″. The series follows the pair as they end up in all manner of situation due to their misleading appearances. The series is animated by Studio Seven, who also took lead on Ai Mai Mi and assisted with Fairy Tail and Saki. The series begins July 1st and 7:30 p.m. Pacific for premium members and July 8th for those with free accounts.

Both comedic shorts run about three minutes per episode and will be available via the Crunchyroll site as well as any device with a Crunchyroll application.
