We’ve successfully recorded a pilot podcast here at The G.A.M.E.S. Blog, which we’re calling the M.E.G.A.caSt for now, but we’re open to official naming suggestions.

In our inaugural episode, we talk about some of the games we’ve been playing, discuss some of our favorite games of 2009 and the 2000′s in general. We also touch on Bungie’s Haitian aid effort, which you can help by playing Halo 3 and ODST tonight with the following emblem setup:

All you have to do to participate is follow these instructions to alter your character’s appearance, and just play online as you normally would:

  • Press START
  • Select “SETTINGS” / “APPEARANCE”
  • Select “EMBLEM”
  • Select “Hearts” ICON, “Circle” BACKGROUND
  • Back out to the APPEARANCES menu and select “COLORS”
  • Set “EMBLEM PRIMARY” to RED (or MAROON / BRICK / ROSE depending on which game you’re playing!)
  • Set “EMBLEM SECONDARY” to WHITE

For every 1000 player-games with that emblem, Bungie will donate $100, up to a maximum of $77,000.

Check it out and let us know what you think here in the post or you can email me at dan@the-games-blog.com with questions, feedback or naming suggestions.

So far there are a couple things wrong with the podcast. First of all I can’t tell but did you guy’s use a script? Also when listening through stereo ear buds both of the guys are on one side and the lady is on the other it may be better in a mono sound format. From the beginning the show is a little dull. Your theme music is a good idea to fix that. There is also a lot of background noise. There are also echos when Sandy talk’s. Most of this will be easily fixed. So good for a first try.

No, no script. All we said before recording was that we were gonna talk games of the year/decade, and let it flow from there. Sandra was on a headset that kept changing her volume level, that might have been causing some of the issue, we’re gonna try a different setup next time. I didn’t realize I uploaded the stereo version, not the mono, and the only background noise I hear is people shifting in their chairs. I don’t know what else you’re hearing.
